Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated Sales Representative to join our team at Dal-Tile. As a Sales Representative, you will be responsible for increasing market share and sales for our ceramic tile products in the prescribed region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct weekly sales calls to service existing customers and expand our account base through cold calling.
  • Prepare weekly sales and call reports to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop a monthly sales strategy and prepare a travel calendar to ensure effective coverage of the region.
  • Conduct market analysis of top accounts in each area, including dealers, contractors, and builders.
  • Research market product data to determine sales strategy and optimize product offerings.
  • Grow market share by increasing sales and sales volume while maintaining company-approved product margin goals.
  • Utilize negotiation and influence skills to sell and place displays in customer showrooms.
  • Conduct client follow-ups via phone calls, letters, and emails to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Establish and maintain client files and perform timely follow-up on programs and projects.
  • Provide product knowledge seminars to customers and utilize on-demand reporting to achieve sales objectives.
Requirements
  • High school diploma and some college education preferred.
  • Computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Lotus Notes/email.
  • A clean driving record and reliable transportation required.
  • 4 years prior selling experience.
  • Prior customer service experience a plus.
  • Proven ability to work in an unstructured, unsupervised environment.

  • Proven interpersonal skills, including influencing and negotiation skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and demonstrate solid time management and organizational skills.
