Work Schedule:

Monday to Thursday, 8 AM to 2 PM; Friday, 8 AM to 1 PM


Compensation:

This position is classified as grade 11, with a starting pay of $17.20 per hour and a midpoint of $22.93 per hour. The offered hourly rate will be based on the candidate's education and experience, in accordance with the college's compensation guidelines and applicable agreements.

Job Overview:

The individual in this role will engage in moderately complex tasks within the Center for Global Engagement, focusing on the admission, enrollment, and retention of international students. This includes managing specific components of the International Student Homestay Program in partnership with the supervisor. Responsibilities also encompass organizing activities for international students and supporting those interested in studying abroad. Guidance will be provided by the designated manager.


Required Qualifications:

  1. Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year institution or technical school.
  2. A minimum of three years of direct experience in a higher education environment, with a focus on international students and their families.
  3. Strong skills in intercultural communication and a deep appreciation for cultural diversity.
  4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  5. Excellent oral and written communication abilities.
  6. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  7. Ability to organize tasks effectively to meet deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
  8. Proficient in using personal computers and relevant software, with a willingness to learn new technologies.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  2. Experience working with international students in a higher education context.
  3. Familiarity with Terra Dotta database management system.
  4. Experience with Salesforce CRM.
  5. Knowledge of housing management or homestay programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Coordinate specific elements of the International Student Homestay Program, including recruiting host families, processing applications, addressing inquiries from prospective and current students, conducting background checks on host families, and maintaining a list of alternative housing options.
  2. Support student enrollment by assisting with admission, enrollment, and retention efforts for international students. Respond to inquiries from prospective and new students, provide general reception duties, and utilize college systems such as Colleague, Terra Dotta, and Salesforce to update student applications and enrollment statuses.
  3. Assist with study abroad and exchange programs by answering questions from prospective participants, scheduling advising sessions, and supporting system updates for study abroad applications and materials.

Additional Responsibilities:

  1. Perform other job-related tasks as assigned that align with the job description.
  2. Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including evenings and weekends as required by the department.

Physical Requirements:

Light physical demands (up to 25 lbs occasionally or 10 lbs frequently).


Visual Requirements:

Close visual acuity required (e.g., for computer work).


Work Environment:

Moderate noise levels typical of an office setting.
