Human Resources Intern Job Description

Skookum is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Human Resources Intern to join our team. As an HR Intern, you will assist the Skookum Human Resources team with various projects and provide administrative support as requested.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Sr. HR Partner in reviewing, updating, and creating job descriptions company-wide.
  • Work with the Sr. HR Partner to create process guides for the HR team, managers, and supervisors.
  • Conduct exit interviews and/or facilitate employee engagement surveys as requested.
  • Assist the Sr. HR Partner with investigations, including scheduling interview times, taking notes, and organizing documents.
  • Work with the Human Resource Coordinator to enter training attendance, certifications, education, and MVR information into Workday.
  • Create or update internal training presentations on various HR topics.
  • Assist with various Skookum audits, including the I-9 annual audit, CDL audit, separated worker file audit, etc.
  • Assist the HR Coordinator with presenting and processing onboarding paperwork at Skookum's weekly new hire orientation.
  • Assist with various recruitment activities, including posting jobs on job boards, attending career fairs, updating templates, assisting with sourcing candidates, doing community outreach research and connections, uploading candidate documents, etc.
  • Shadow HR department team members throughout the course of their duties.
  • Assist with special projects for the People Department.
  • Demonstrate and support company culture and commitment to excellence.
  • Maintain a high standard of confidentiality.
  • Demonstrate a high level of time management, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Maintain a professional and positive attitude.
  • Work on a collaborative intern cohort team project.
  • Attend team intern meetings and trainings.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Preferably in the process of obtaining a BA/BS in Human Resources or a closely related field.
  • A background check and E-Verify will be conducted for this position.
  • Computer data management and word processing skills.
  • Ability to maintain a high standard of confidentiality, time management, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Valid state driver's license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Skookum's insurance.
  • Present yourself with a positive and professional attitude.
