Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will perform hearing assessments for newborns, typically in the comfort of a new mother's hospital room. You will also play a crucial role in educating parents about the significance of these screenings using various educational materials we provide. Your duties will include entering patient information and validating hearing test results as required. Additional tasks may involve assisting with the confirmation or rescheduling of outpatient appointments, addressing any equipment concerns, and training new personnel.
- Conducting newborn hearing assessments
- Confirming insurance details with the parent or guardian
- Accurately documenting hearing assessment outcomes
- Adhering to protocols for timely billing submissions
- Ensuring compliance with security and identification protocols for infants
- Following infection control and safety protocols, along with other hospital and company policies
- Identifying potential issues and seeking assistance promptly when necessary
- Completing company and hospital orientation or training, including patient privacy education
- Meeting and maintaining employee health standards
- Performing other assigned duties
- Preferred experience working with infants
- Background in a healthcare environment preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
- Proficient in computer use and capable of accurate data entry
- Ability to prioritize daily tasks effectively
- Capable of working independently as well as collaboratively
- Willingness to work on weekends and national holidays
- Physical ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand and walk frequently (95% of the shift)
- Capability to push/pull up to 100 pounds regularly
Minimum Qualification/Education Level: High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
Preferred Experience Years: One to three months of relevant experience
