Health Services Management Teaching Specialist

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced teaching specialist to join our team in the Health Services Management program at the University of Minnesota. As a teaching specialist, you will have the opportunity to inspire, guide, and mentor the next generation of health care leaders.
The Health Services Management program is one of the most diverse and respected programs in the country, with a strong focus on preparing students for success in the field of health services management. Our teaching specialists are industry leaders who teach from experience, draw from real-life case studies, and partner with our teaching experts using state-of-the-art, multimodal teaching methods and technology.
As a teaching specialist, you will be responsible for delivering well-structured lectures and interactive sessions that engage students in multicultural, diverse, and inclusive educational experiences. You will also have the opportunity to help shape and be responsible for the student experience, working closely with our faculty director and other teaching specialists.
Responsibilities- Prepare and provide instruction that reflects appropriate learning objectives
- Use formative and summative assessment techniques to improve learning and teaching
- Construct classroom materials that support the goals of the course
- Maintain communication with course committee instructors and participate in instructional discussions
- Remain up to date on technology and multimodal methods of teaching with technology
- Maintain accurate records of student work and attendance
- Attend professional development opportunities
- Assist in the development of discipline-specific student learning outcome objectives
- Prepare, assist, or update content and materials used in course design, including course syllabi, assignments, and assessments
We are seeking candidates with a strong background in health services management or a related field, as well as significant experience in the health care industry. A bachelor's degree is required, and a master's degree or higher is preferred. Teaching experience in higher education is also highly valued.
