POSITION OVERVIEW

The HVAC Sheet Metal Technician plays a vital role within EMCOR Government Services. This position requires adherence to all safety protocols and collaboration with team members on a daily basis. The technician will operate under the supervision of a Field Superintendent or Project Manager based on the assigned work location.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The following duties are essential to this role. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as necessary.

  • Design and layout sheet metal components including ducts and hangers.
  • Accurately measure and mark dimensions for installation in the field.
  • Drill holes for fasteners such as screws, bolts, or rivets.
  • Install sheet metal within a supportive framework.
  • Fabricate or modify parts on-site to fulfill specific requirements.
  • Create sketches for duct fittings.
  • Handle and secure large sheet metal ducts and components.
  • Assemble duct joints to complete heating, cooling, and ventilation systems.
  • Lift weights up to 50 lbs as required.
  • Enforce safety regulations on-site.
  • Provide guidance to fellow employees when necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

A High School Diploma or GED, or an equivalent combination of experience and education is required.

  • Experience in HVAC sheet metal and installation.
  • A valid driver's license with an insurable driving record.
  • OSHA 10 Certification is preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Familiarity with the construction industry and relevant documentation.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations and guidelines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Experience operating forklifts and/or scissor lifts.
