About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Helper to join our team at Bahnson Mechanical Systems, a leading design-build mechanical contractor with over 107 years of experience in solving complex mechanical engineering challenges.

The successful candidate will work under the guidance of a Field Foreman or Field Superintendent, assisting with project sites in SC, NC, or GA. Key responsibilities will include identifying and gathering materials for installation, measuring and cutting piping and sheet metal, and laying out piping supports and sheet metal.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and gather materials for installation
  • Measure, cut, and prep piping and sheet metal for installation
  • Layout and installation of piping supports and sheet metal
  • Layout piping routes from project drawings
  • Support the project craft team as needed
  • Assist with installation of piping systems, sheet metal, and equipment
  • Assist with testing and startup of piping systems
  • Operate lifts, equipment, and power tools as needed
  • Removal and disposal of scrap or excess material
  • Communicate project goal hindrances to the supervisor
Preferred Qualifications
  • High school or general education diploma (GED) with good math skills
  • 2+ years of experience in piping or fabrication shop
  • Knowledge of basic piping systems
  • Fundamental construction skills, including basic knowledge of hand tools and power tools
  • Experience reading and interpreting basic print and sketches
