About Culinary Angels

Culinary Angels is a non-profit organization primarily driven by volunteers, focused on delivering nutritious meals and providing nutrition education to individuals facing cancer challenges, along with their caregivers. We offer complimentary meal deliveries across the Tri-Valley region in Northern California.

Role Summary

The CEO is tasked with the comprehensive management of the organization, ensuring that operations are conducted efficiently and effectively to achieve strategic business objectives. This position collaborates closely with the Board of Directors to develop strategic goals that align with the mission and vision of the organization.

The CEO is responsible for recruiting and guiding staff and volunteer resources in daily operations and acts as the representative to external stakeholders, including donors, government entities, and the public. This role also involves maintaining the integrity of the 501(c)(3) status, which encompasses program management, financial oversight, compliance with regulations, and the development of sustainable revenue streams.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership

  • Collaborate with the Board to establish direction through strategic and fundraising plans.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, internal policies, and financial standards.
  • Foster productive relationships with Board members, staff, and volunteers.
  • Prepare and present annual budgets for Board approval.
  • Manage fiscal operations, including regular evaluation and reporting of budget results.

Program Planning & Execution

  • Drive the implementation of the organization’s priorities and mission.
  • Partner with committees to identify and execute programs that meet both immediate and long-term goals.
  • Oversee the meal delivery program's execution, efficiency, and reporting.
  • Develop and maintain operational guidelines and documentation for the meal delivery program.
  • Support operational leads through effective communication and problem-solving.

Community Engagement

  • Build and nurture relationships with potential long-term donors to create sustainable revenue streams.
  • Establish partnerships with relevant organizations to enhance the mission of Culinary Angels.
  • Act as the spokesperson for the organization, effectively communicating the vision to stakeholders and the public.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in non-profit leadership with a minimum of 3 years in management roles.
  • Passion for supporting individuals facing cancer through nutritional assistance.
  • Strong operational and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication abilities, both verbal and written.
  • Experience in fundraising and donor relations.
