Job Description

We are seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Business Computer Applications Instructor to join our team at Yuba Community College District. The successful candidate will provide instruction in Business Computer Applications and Office Administration courses, including but not limited to: Business Computer Applications-Beginning, Introduction to Computing, Microsoft Word II & III, Microsoft Excel II & III, Microsoft Access II & III, Records management, Adobe Acrobat, Computer Keyboarding, Computer Calculation.

Responsibilities
  • Organize and instruct classes in Business Computer Applications and Office Administration courses.
  • Provide effective classroom and laboratory instruction using methods and materials appropriate to the subject matter.
  • Promote and model professionalism as an educator and business professional; maintain appropriate standards of professional conduct and ethics.
  • Communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrate sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, gender, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
  • Comply with all institutional policies and procedures.
  • Facilitate student learning by using appropriate teaching methods.
  • Maintain currency and depth of knowledge in assigned area of responsibility.
  • Teach day, evening, and/or weekend teaching assignments, which may include distance learning (interactive television, online) and accelerated courses.
  • Assess Student Learning Outcomes every semester.
  • Participate in department, division, and college-wide initiatives and committees if desired.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated evidence of sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
  • Required Qualifications: The successful candidate must possess the minimum qualifications for instructors in Business as governed by the California Community Colleges Chancellor's Office.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Must have competency in all areas of applied business technology courses normally taught in a community college or in the first two years of a university.
  • Must be flexible in the acceptance of new and changing teaching assignments.
  • Must have the ability not only to adjust teaching skills to meet varying needs of the community and changing student interests but must also have the ability to organize and implement programs to meet these needs.
