Job Overview

As the Manager of Global Air Procurement Analytics, you will be instrumental in the Global Air Procurement division. Your role will involve leveraging data and analytics to create actionable insights that drive strategic sourcing initiatives. You will be responsible for enhancing, designing, and developing impactful dashboards and data visualizations, analyzing outcomes, and formulating recommendations. Collaborating closely with the Strategic Sourcing Team, you will contribute to the development and execution of strategies with airline and GDS partners. You will oversee all Global Air Procurement initiatives and projects related to IT, data management, and automation, working in tandem with IT and other relevant stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze dashboards, reports, data, and trends to identify opportunities and trends that can influence negotiation strategies, providing actionable recommendations for the Manager of Global Air Procurement and the Director of Global Air Procurement through analytics and insights, including financial modeling.
  • Lead all Global Air Procurement initiatives and projects related to IT, data management, and automation, collaborating closely with IT and other stakeholders.
  • Design and create impactful dashboards and data visualizations by integrating data from various sources to support the strategic sourcing efforts of the Global Air Procurement team. Additionally, write ad-hoc SQL queries to extract necessary data from underlying databases.
  • Ensure data integrity and functionality of new and existing PowerBI dashboards, serving as the Subject Matter Expert for the Global Air Procurement team regarding PowerBI functionality and troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate with IT to identify and implement enhanced analytic tools and data structures, as well as manage efforts related to the development, maintenance, accuracy, and integrity of air data.
  • Assist the Global Air Procurement Team with ad-hoc data analytics, extracting information from the Global Travel Database.
  • Engage in the formulation of short-term and long-term strategic objectives in partnership with the Vice President of Global Strategic Sourcing, Director of Global Strategic Sourcing, and Manager of Global Air Procurement.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree; Master's degree preferred
  • Discipline/Major: Master's degree preferred, with an undergraduate degree in Finance, Business Administration, Supply Chain, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or a related field
  • Required Certifications: None
  • Required Years and Area of Professional Experience: 5-8 years of experience in advanced analytics. Strong commercial acumen and PowerBI expertise are essential. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and meticulous attention to detail are required. Highly motivated and self-driven, with an entrepreneurial mindset. Experience in the air industry is essential; strategic sourcing and cruise line experience are advantageous.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, with advanced skills in Excel and Power BI; knowledge of Tableau is a plus
  • Expertise in Oracle SQL and Oracle SQL Developer (including SSRS and TSQL) is required, enabling the ability to navigate database objects, execute SQL statements, edit and debug PL/SQL statements, and generate reports
  • Strong preference for expertise in ETL Tools, Power Query, MDX, and DAX
  • Familiarity with GDS (Sabre / Amadeus) is advantageous

Decision-Making:

Tactical: Decisions are focused on intermediate-term issues, aimed at advancing the organization towards its strategic goals. Outcomes are predictable. Following decisions made by Top Executive Leadership, the next steps involve implementing the necessary actions. Examples include determining the financial resources required for implementation, selecting an advertising agency for a new service, or establishing an incentive plan for employees to boost revenue.

Physical Demands: Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods.

Travel: Less than 25% with non-shipboard travel likely.

Work Conditions: Primarily work in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazards.

The salary range for this role is $75,900-$125,000. Offers to selected candidates will be made fairly and equitably, considering specific job-related skills and experience.

Director-level and above roles may also be eligible for Carnival's discretionary equity incentive plan.
