About the Job

The Director of Business Development reports directly to the CEO and is responsible for driving sales strategy, identifying new business opportunities, and managing client relationships. Key responsibilities include:

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct market research to identify potential clients, markets, and partnerships to expand the company's reach.
  • Maintain and nurture relationships with existing clients while prioritizing the development of new ones.
  • Develop and implement strategies to increase sales and achieve business goals.
  • Analyze market trends and competitors to identify opportunities for growth.
  • Prepare proposals, negotiate contract terms, and close deals.
  • Collaborate with the executive team, vendor managers, and other team members to ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Monitor and report on sales performance and business development activities.
Requirements
  • 10+ years of experience in business development, sales, or a related field.
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field is preferred but not required.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and MS Office.
  • Understanding of retail and eCommerce, with experience in wholesale or distribution a plus.
  • Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Work Style

This is a hybrid role with plenty of remote flexibility.

Salary

$150,000+ per year.
