Position Overview:

The primary objective of this role is to guarantee that the Housekeeping Division effectively cleans and upkeeps guest accommodations and communal areas, aligning with both guest expectations and the established standards of Homewood Suites Lake Buena Vista.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of room attendants, house personnel, and quality inspectors by conducting regular meetings, evaluating staff performance, and providing constructive feedback to rectify any shortcomings and uphold quality standards.
  • Participate in the recruitment process by interviewing, hiring, and training new staff, as well as conducting performance assessments, addressing issues, fostering open communication, and recommending disciplinary actions when necessary.
  • Organize staff schedules, determining days off and ensuring adequate staffing levels based on occupancy rates and any ongoing or upcoming projects. Process payroll records, correcting discrepancies to ensure timely payment and accurate compensation for additional services.
  • Maintain and analyze computerized records for budgeting and forecasting departmental expenses, as well as monitoring inspection ratings for housekeeping staff.
  • Effectively communicate both verbally and in writing to provide clear guidance to team members.
  • Adhere to attendance policies and maintain regular availability for work.
  • Carry out any other job-related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in housekeeping, preferably within a similar hospitality environment.
  • Comprehensive understanding of hotel operations, including marketing strategies, safety protocols, human resources, business planning, maintenance, budget forecasting, quality assurance, hospitality regulations, and strategic planning.
  • Strong leadership abilities to inspire and develop team members while ensuring the achievement of departmental objectives. Capable of prioritizing tasks, planning, organizing, and delegating effectively.
  • Proficient written communication skills to convey information clearly, concisely, and in an organized manner.
  • Ability to perform efficiently under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to adapt messaging for various audiences, including supervisors, colleagues, and the public.
