Position Overview:

As an HVAC Maintenance Specialist, you will be responsible for the operation, inspection, and upkeep of HVAC, refrigeration, and mechanical systems within designated facilities. Your goal will be to ensure optimal performance and longevity of equipment while maintaining energy efficiency and safety standards. You will utilize your technical skills in HVAC and refrigeration, along with your knowledge in electrical, plumbing, and other related trades, to complete daily tasks effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintenance Duties:

  • Execute preventive maintenance and respond to repair work orders for mechanical systems and equipment.
  • Maintain and repair all HVAC/R systems and associated components at assigned locations.
  • Familiarize yourself with equipment and methods necessary for daily operations.
  • Conduct facility inspections and report on conditions affecting client satisfaction and operations.

Safety Compliance:

  • Adhere to safety protocols and maintain cleanliness in work areas.
  • Ensure compliance with local ordinances, codes, and laws.
  • Complete all required safety training sessions.
  • Identify and communicate Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) issues and participate in their resolution.

Administrative Tasks:

  • Update work order statuses in real-time.
  • Utilize the Client CMMS system for all maintenance activities.
  • Report issues to management and collaborate with the Parts/Material Supervisor to ensure availability of necessary tools and supplies.
  • Attend work and safety meetings as required.
  • Perform any additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; vocational training preferred.
  • At least five (5) years of technical experience in building engineering, particularly in HVAC/R, plumbing, and electrical systems.

Additional Skills:

  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent communication abilities, both written and verbal.
  • Knowledge of relevant codes, laws, and regulations.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications, including MS Office and CMMS systems.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with other trades to complete projects.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 80 lbs.
  • Capability to work at heights and in adverse conditions.
  • Frequent bending, lifting, kneeling, and overhead work.
  • Availability for call-in work and other duties as needed.
