Job Summary

Chapin Hall is seeking an experienced temporary, part-time Human Resources Coordinator who will work collaboratively with Chapin Hall staff. The successful applicant will support and provide administrative assistance to the Human Resources Department, helping to advance the mission of Chapin Hall.

Key Responsibilities

  • HR Administration: Complete requests for employment verification, complete HR onboarding tasks for new hires, and offboarding tasks for separating staff.
  • Scheduling: Schedule HR outlook events for the organization.
  • Staff Directory: Maintain staff directory.
  • HR Information: Respond to requests for non-confidential HR information and reporting.
  • Compliance: Ensure that workplace postings are compliant with federal, state, and local law.
  • Documentation: Serve as the HR documentation retention resource, ensuring that documentation is filed appropriately and retained as per policy.
  • Recruiting: Support the full-cycle recruitment process, including scheduling interviews, posting open positions, and maintaining new hire files.
  • Staff Data: Maintain staff data across various HR systems through accurate and timely input, to support staff changes and the performance management, compliance, and promotions processes.

Requirements

  • A minimum of two (2) years of professional experience or education in human resources, preferred.
  • Proven experience in HR coordination or a similar role, preferably in a remote or hybrid work environment, preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written), with the ability to successfully manage relationships across the organization required.
  • Solid understanding of HR processes and best practices, including recruitment and employee data management.
  • Experience with payroll administration is preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects simultaneously, set priorities, and meet deadlines, despite constant interruptions required.
  • Exceptional attention-to-detail and organization, with keen time management skills.
  • Self-motivated and proactive with a high level of initiative.
  • Familiarity with HR databases, including but not limited to HRMS/HRIS, preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word, required.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to operate a computer extensively for four (4) or more hours per day.
  • Must be able to travel locally and out of state occasionally.
