About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Modeling Analyst to join our team at Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (APL). As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for characterizing and evaluating tactical missile system performance against complex and emergent threats.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct high-fidelity physics-based modeling to analyze driving factors behind missile system performance
  • Collaborate with authorities in various fields, including GN&C, RF/IR Engineering, Electronic Warfare, Software Development, and Systems Engineering
  • Build and leverage novel data visualization tools for large and complex data sets
  • Prepare and present formal documentation to technical specialists, operational partners, and government sponsors
  • Develop and maintain software tools using languages such as MATLAB, Python, or C++
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or another engineering field
  • Experience analyzing driving factors behind missile system performance or working with aerospace systems
  • Strong programming skills with languages such as MATLAB, Python, or C++
  • Ability to obtain an Interim Secret security clearance by start date and ultimately obtain a Top Secret clearance
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or another engineering field
  • 5+ years of experience analyzing driving factors behind missile system performance or working with aerospace systems
  • Programming skills with Simulink or Fortran
  • Experience working with software versioning systems such as Git
  • Interim or final Top Secret security clearance
