Job Summary and Qualifications
As a Cardiovascular Technologist, you will assist in cardiac catheterization, as well as vascular diagnostic and interventional procedures. Your role will also involve performing emergency procedures related to catheterization, such as IAB and temporary pacer insertion, while adhering to established standards and practices under the guidance of a credentialed invasive cardiologist or invasive radiologist.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Demonstrating accountability in recognizing and addressing potential and actual patient issues, collecting accurate data, and participating in the patient's care in accordance with departmental standards.
- Prioritizing resources for patient care and diagnostic activities based on accurate patient information and staff capabilities.
- Exhibiting knowledge of cardiac anatomy and physiology, including specific conditions, diseases (CAD), and treatment therapies relevant to the patient populations served.
- Demonstrating competency in performing Cath lab procedures.
- Assisting in data collection related to cardiovascular, respiratory, neurological, renal, and peripheral vascular status, while documenting findings and reporting any abnormal results to the physician.
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of an accredited School of Cardiovascular Technology and/or RCIS Certification and/or ARRT IR.
• Two years of experience in a licensed field and one year of cardiac cath lab experience.
• LPN with one year of experience and completion of a Critical Care course within one year of hire, or one year of Cath Lab experience, or one year of RCIS or CVT, or graduate of an accredited RCVT program.
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
• Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification.
• Strong critical thinking, service excellence, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to read and comprehend written instructions and follow verbal instructions, along with PC skills.
What Qualifications You Will Need:
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• RRT/Respiratory Care Practitioner (RRT/RCP), Registered Nurse, Registered Vascular Specialist, Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist, State Registered Radiologic Technician, or Cardiovascular Technologist (CV Tech) certification must be obtained within two years of employment start date.
