Business Development Associate Role

Virtus LLC is seeking a dynamic and experienced sales professional to join our team as a Business Development Associate. This role will be responsible for supporting lead producers in all aspects of the insurance brokerage process within our Commercial Construction industry vertical.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Source and identify potential clients, industries, and market segments to target new business opportunities.
  • Foster relationships with key decision-makers, influencers, and stakeholders to understand their business needs and challenges.
  • Develop customized proposals, presentations, and pitches to showcase the agency's services and capabilities to prospective clients.
  • Collaborate with the team to qualify leads, manage the sales pipeline, and track progress towards revenue targets.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, market dynamics, and competitor activities to identify emerging opportunities and stay ahead of the curve.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field and/or years of experience equivalent.
  • Previous related sales experience required.
  • Hunter mentality required.
  • 3 to 5 years of previous construction industry/contractor experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with cold-calling and cold-outreach.
  • Previous experience making appointments and maintaining schedules and calendars for others.
  • Experience with Salesforce a plus.
  • Compelling Communicator.
  • Strong work ethic and drive.
  • Confident and high energy.
  • Familiarity and good working knowledge of various Microsoft software applications (Excel), Agency Management Systems, and the ability to learn new software systems.
  • Ability to be licensed within the first 30 days of hire date.
