Job Title: Cardiac Sonographer Level I

University of Miami is seeking a highly skilled Cardiac Sonographer Level I to join our team at the University of Miami Hospital & Clinics - Lennar Foundation Medical Center in Coral Gables, Florida.

Job Summary:

The Cardiac Sonographer Level I will be responsible for performing all Echocardiography procedures at a level that requires no supervision of technical detail. This position requires the employee to perform procedures using independent judgment with ingenuity, initiative, and a complete understanding of anatomy, physiology, vascular pathology, and Doppler principles.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform Echocardiography procedures in a safe, timely, accurate, and cost-effective manner within the scope of our patient population.
  • Provide 24-hour clinical examinations as needed.
  • Document all Echocardiography procedures, processes, and results.
  • Stay compliant with prevailing requirements or practices, as well as with changes in JCAHO Standards, OSHA regulations, and/or various state or federal statutes.
  • Coordinate patient flow to ensure studies are done in an efficient and safe manner.
  • Assist staff, physicians, and other ancillary department personnel as required.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of a two-year AMA program approved by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation.
  • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (R.D.C.S.) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (R.C.S.) certification.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Echocardiography.
  • CPR certification.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Exemplary level of professionalism and leadership.
