We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse 2 to join our team at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. The successful candidate will have a strong background in oncology nursing and be able to administer chemotherapy and biotherapy agents, as well as provide care to patients with multiple disease processes and research study patients.
Key Responsibilities- Administer standard chemotherapy, research study agents, biotherapy agents, and non-chemotherapy medications.
- Monitor therapeutic responses and side effects, and obtain pharmacokinetic blood samples and other laboratory specimens as required by each protocol.
- Assist in maintenance of up-to-date protocol information in clinical areas.
- Document in a concise, accurate, and legible manner according to clinical practice standards.
- Support patients and their families during trial treatment, and educate them about their treatment and protocol requirements.
- Utilize independent learning methods to become knowledgeable about new protocols and protocol changes.
- Adhere to University and unit-level policies and procedures.
- Bachelor of Science in nursing required.
- Registered Nurse License; Basic Life Support Certification (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification (ACLS), Oncology Nursing Society Chemotherapy & Biotherapy Administration Guidelines provider course Oncology certification preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience in chemotherapy infusion highly preferred.
