The University of Miami is seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our team as a Staff Nurse - Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Administration. This is an exciting opportunity for a professional nurse to administer standard chemotherapy and biotherapy agents, research study and non-chemotherapy medications to oncology patients.
Key Responsibilities- Administer standard chemotherapy, research study agents, biotherapy agents, and non-chemotherapy medications to patients.
- Monitor therapeutic responses and side effects, and obtain pharmacokinetic blood samples and other laboratory specimens as required by each protocol.
- Assist in maintenance of up-to-date protocol information in clinical areas.
- Document in a concise, accurate, and legible manner according to clinical practice standards.
- Support patients and their families during trial treatment, and educate them about their treatment and protocol requirements.
- Utilize independent learning methods to become knowledgeable about new protocols and protocol changes.
- Adhere to University and unit-level policies and procedures.
- Education: Bachelor of Science in nursing required.
- Certification and Licensing: Registered Nurse License; Basic Life Support Certification (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification (ACLS), Oncology Nursing Society Chemotherapy & Biotherapy Administration Guidelines provider course.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of nursing experience in chemotherapy infusion highly preferred.
