Role Summary
The Senior Medical Science Liaison (MSL) for Burn Care is tasked with delivering non-promotional scientific, educational, and research support for the Vericel Burn Care portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and nurture relationships with prominent burn specialists, fostering a well-informed network regarding the Vericel Burn Care franchise.
- Engage in brand planning initiatives across various departments to align with Vericel's corporate objectives.
- Serve as a reliable source of accurate clinical, scientific, and medical information for key stakeholders, including healthcare professionals and decision-makers, adhering to company policies.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of the burn care treatment landscape, including current strategies and emerging therapeutic developments through participation in relevant symposiums and reviewing key literature.
- Identify and cultivate collaborative partnerships with key experts and institutions vital to product development.
- Facilitate medical education for healthcare professionals through presentations, advisory boards, and other suitable venues to enhance understanding of products and disease states.
- Collaborate with research and clinical teams to support sites and investigators involved in Vericel clinical trials and post-market studies, ensuring compliance with good clinical practice (GCP) guidelines.
- Guide requests for investigator-sponsored studies (ISS) through established internal processes.
- Respond to unsolicited medical information requests with tailored, clear responses.
- Communicate significant clinical and research insights from industry leaders to relevant departments to inform company strategies for investigational and commercial products.
- Identify educational needs within the medical community regarding burn wound management and the appropriate use of company products.
- Maintain clinical expertise through ongoing education, including attendance at symposiums and workshops.
- Participate in internal training and maintain communication with Clinical, Regulatory, and Legal teams to ensure compliance with timelines and procedures.
- Adhere to regulatory and compliance guidelines in all aspects of scientific information dissemination.

Qualifications and Experience
- Advanced degree (MS, RN/BSN, MD, PhD, or PharmD) required.
- Experience in burn care or related products is preferred.
- 2-5+ years of experience as a Medical Science Liaison.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficient in clinical and basic science to effectively convey cutting-edge data to healthcare professionals.
Work Environment and Requirements
- Ability to travel extensively within the Western region of the U.S., including occasional weekend commitments for conferences.
- Must be able to drive and attend surgical procedures as necessary.
- Must meet hospital credentialing requirements and be capable of lifting up to 40 lbs.
