Job Overview

This is a temporary assignment with the potential for permanent placement. Candidates must possess experience in the aerospace sector, specifically as a buyer for direct commodity components and finished goods, excluding raw materials.

Key Responsibilities
  • Quality and Value Acquisition: Ensure optimal quality, service, and value for products and services through proficient bidding, negotiation, and supplier management.
  • Supplier Coordination: Identify manufacturing requirements, select appropriate suppliers, initiate purchase orders, and manage delivery logistics.
  • Resource Provision: Provide parts, equipment, services, and materials that are limited in scope and complexity.
Qualifications
  1. A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience that provides both theoretical and practical knowledge.
  2. Entry-level position; may have limited prior industry experience or relevant internship experience.
  3. Certification in Purchasing Management (CPM) is preferred.
  4. Familiarity with key purchasing and negotiation principles, as well as general business operations.
  5. Basic understanding of legal and regulatory procurement requirements.
  6. Knowledge of continuous improvement techniques and methods.
  7. Proficiency in standard business application software and specialized purchasing or materials systems (e.g., EDI or MRP systems).
  8. Ability to perform calculations related to discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.
  9. Skills in data research and analysis to develop recommendations or resolve issues based on internal information.
  10. Capability to work with general direction and determine priorities for assignments.
  11. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports.
  12. Skills to respond to inquiries or complaints from customers or regulatory agencies.
  13. Ability to define problems, gather data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  14. Effective negotiation skills to secure the best prices and terms.
  15. Demonstrated competencies in teamwork, goal-setting, performance feedback, and self-development.
