Lead Electrical Systems Engineer

Position Summary
The Senior Electrical Engineer will utilize extensive knowledge and practical expertise in various electrical systems, focusing on Electrical Generation/Protection and Medium Voltage Distribution equipment, up to 15kV.
Key Responsibilities
- Prioritize safety while collaborating in a team-oriented environment.
- Contribute to the facilities design team, aiding in the design, commissioning, operations, and troubleshooting of electrical systems.
- Provide technical leadership on facility-based projects, collaborating with both GE Vernova and vendor teams.
- Work alongside Mechanical and Process engineers to integrate overall process system designs into electrical designs.
- Engage with electrical equipment suppliers for RFQs, vendor drawing evaluations, and O&M planning.
- Draft detailed electrical technical specifications for procurement of electrical equipment.
- Create technical procedures for safe electrical equipment handling.
- Communicate findings effectively to internal and external stakeholders through detailed reports and presentations.
- Serve as a mentor for less experienced colleagues.
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from an accredited institution with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, or a 2-year Electrical Technology Degree with at least 10 years of experience.
- Experience in electrical construction, including inspections during installation and resolving project design issues.
- Hands-on experience with electrical testing on 15kV Transformers, large-scale Generators (50MW+), Switchgear, MCC, Power Panels, VFDs, and Protection Relays.
- Experience in electrical commissioning within a Power Generation facility, emphasizing equipment testing and system startup.
- At least 10 years of experience in electrical system design and grid-connected power systems.
- Extensive experience in electric power construction, installation, operation, or maintenance across various power plants and utilities.
- Familiarity with global electrical codes and standards applicable to large-scale energy systems (e.g., IEC, UL, NEC).
- Experience conducting power studies, including coordination, short circuit, load-flow, and arc flash analysis using software like EasyPower or SKM.
- Proficient in developing single and three-line distribution diagrams.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
- Solid understanding of power electronics and control systems.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying complex technical information clearly.
- Comprehension of electric grid operations.
