Job Overview

The Electrical Controls Engineer will play a pivotal role in the operation and upkeep of electrical and mechanical instruments, alongside control systems. This position involves programming and modifying computer control systems to enhance operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the operation and maintenance of electrical and mechanical control equipment.
  • Draft specifications for the selection of new instrumentation and maintain electrical spare parts inventory.
  • Develop and implement automation strategies across all operational sectors.
  • Provide support in programming and modifying computer control systems.
  • Facilitate training sessions for plant personnel on the operation and maintenance of computer-controlled instrumentation.
  • Act as a technical consultant and collaborate with Maintenance I/E Teams.
  • Assist in troubleshooting equipment failures as needed.
  • Conduct routine inspections of projects, plants, and equipment.
Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates should possess:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 2 years of experience in Electrical, Instrumentation, and Controls Automation within chemical processing and related operations.
  • Extensive experience in the design, installation, and commissioning of electrical systems and instrumentation/control interfaces.
  • A solid understanding of chemical plant operations to effectively integrate instrumentation with equipment.
  • Fundamental knowledge of contemporary process control technologies, including servers and networking.
  • Experience with process control networking protocols and hardware.
