Wildland Fire Protection Specialist

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Wildland Fire Captain to oversee fire prevention and mitigation activities, pre-fire assessments, and fire suppression efforts in our insurance division. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of a fire station or other site, ensuring the safety of personnel and apparatus assigned.

Responsibilities:
- Conduct wildfire safety checks and pre-fire planning inspections.
- Develop, direct, and participate in drills and training programs.
- Provide information to the public and participate in public relations events.
- Supervise the safe operation of company vehicles.
- Conduct performance evaluations of assigned crew members as required.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED.
- Current CPR/AED certification.
- Advanced first aid and/or EMT desired.
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
- Able to work any assigned shift, including nights, holidays, and weekends.
- Ability to pass a work capacity test conducted during the initial onboarding process.
- Proficient in the use of computers, Ipad, etc., including systems such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other platforms for routine business use.
- Prior wildland firefighting experience.

- L - 180 Human Factors in the Wildland Fire Service.
- S - 130 Wildland Firefighting.
- S - 230 Crew Boss.
- S - 231 Engine Boss.
- S - 190 Introduction to Wildland Fire Behavior.
- S - 290 Intermediate Wildland Fire Behavior.
- IS - 100 Introduction to the Incident Command System.
- IS - 200 Basic Incident Command System.
- IS - 700 Introduction to the National Incident Management System.
- IS - 800 Introduction to the National Response Framework.
- Q0426 Introduction to Fire and EMS Supervision and Management.
Compensation:
The estimated salary for this position is $29 per hour, with opportunities for advancement and professional growth within our organization.
