Job Summary

The Wolfeboro Inn and Wolfe's Tavern are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Tavern General Manager to lead our team of restaurant professionals. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for the overall success of our food and beverage operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Front of House Operations: Oversee the entire front of the house food and beverage department, including restaurant, bar, room service, and banquets.
  • Guest Experience: Create and maintain relationships with clients and guests, ensuring a truly wonderful and memorable experience.
  • Team Leadership: Motivate and train staff to provide exceptional internal and external customer service standards.
  • Employee Relations: Manage positive employee relations, enforcing all SOPs, including effective communication, coaching, counseling, evaluating, hiring, and training of staff.
  • Financial Management: Manage budgets, scheduling, forecasting, inventory, expenses, promotions, and systems and controls for all F&B departments.
  • Marketing and Sales: Develop, maintain, and administer F&B sales and marketing strategies, including menus, advertisements, entertainment, food and beverage promotions, signs, incentives, flyers, e-blasts, etc.
  • Point of Sale Systems: Maintain all Point of Sale (POS) systems, including updating pricing, making adjustments, entering specials, maintaining counts, and using the time clock system.
Requirements
  • 3-5 years of recent restaurant management operations experience.
  • Hotel F&B background with some knowledge of catering/banquets.
  • Proven ability to drive sales and motivate teams.
  • Able to expedite, greet, and host guests, and act as a server as needed.
  • Ability to focus on cost management, capable of working with finely tuned existing F&B control models (Excel), including efficient labor cost management, inventory management, forecasting, and review of revenue.
  • MS Office Suite and instinctive computer skills.
  • Proven ability to control costs pursuant to the annual operating budget.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven training, communication, leadership, and financial management skills.
  • Ability to multitask, adapt to change, think quickly, and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced and demanding environment while maintaining calmness, composure, and hospitality.
  • Must have flexibility with schedule to include evenings and weekends.
  • Ability to furnish appropriate state-mandated certifications (TIPS, ServSafe, CPR, Allergy Awareness, etc.).
