Job Summary

Huggins Hospital is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Dietary Service Associate to join our team. As a key member of our Food and Nutrition department, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care through the delivery of high-quality meals and snacks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Meal Service and Delivery: Utilize the hospital's Room Service software to provide timely and compliant meals, beverages, and snacks to all patient care areas. Collaborate with the Room Service Chef to prepare and deliver meals within 45 minutes of the order being placed.
  • Food Preparation and Presentation: Follow departmental recipes and methods for all foods, including modified textures and consistencies. Ensure that all meals are presented in a visually appealing and appetizing manner.
  • Inventory Management and Stocking: Monitor and maintain inventory levels, restock supplies, and put away new stock in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Communication and Teamwork: Collaborate with nursing staff, patients, and other departments to ensure seamless communication and coordination of meal services.
  • Sanitation and Safety: Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen environment, adhering to Infection Prevention standards and Food Safety and Sanitation guidelines.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Six months of experience in healthcare food service preferred.
  • Certifications and Licenses: ServSafe Certification preferred.
  • Skills and Abilities: Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, manage mental stress, and communicate clearly and concisely with colleagues and patients.
Working Conditions

This position requires minimal physical effort, with occasional light lifting to a maximum of 25 pounds. The ability to work in a team environment and maintain a positive attitude is essential.
