Job Description

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our dynamic dermatology practice. As a key member of our front desk team, you will be responsible for managing day-to-day operations, providing exceptional customer service, and ensuring smooth patient flow.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Patient Scheduling and Coordination:
    • Schedule appointments, manage patient flow, and verify patient information.
    • Confirm appointments and follow up on cancellations or reschedules.
  • Medical Record Management:
    • Ensure all patient information is accurately entered, updated, and maintained in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Insurance Verification and Billing Support:
    • Verify patient insurance details.
    • Collect co-pays and assist with billing inquiries or issues.
  • Communication and Administrative Support:
    • Answer and direct phone calls, taking detailed messages.
    • Respond to patient portal messages in a timely and courteous manner.
    • Prepare and manage patient intake forms, consent forms, and other documentation.
  • Coordination with Medical Staff:
    • Collaborate with providers and clinical staff to ensure timely patient care.
    Requirements:Experience and Skills:
    • Proven experience working as a medical receptionist, preferably in a dermatology or medical office setting.
    • Proficiency in using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems, with experience with Medent being a plus.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a strong ability to multitask.
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
    Knowledge and Physical Requirements:
    • Understanding of insurance processes.
    • Knowledge of HIPAA and confidentiality standards.
    • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
    • Occasional lifting of office supplies.
    Estimated Salary:

$45,000 - $55,000 per year, depending on experience.
