Benefits Account Manager

At Scott Insurance, we're seeking a highly skilled Benefits Account Manager to join our team in Richmond, VA. As a key member of our employee benefits team, you will be responsible for managing client accounts from beginning to end, including Open Enrollment requirements, presentations, and product information.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Spearhead the full-cycle renewal process for assigned clients, preparing proposals and conducting market research to support new and renewal business.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to group administrators, answering coverage questions and resolving claim issues.
  • Collaborate with our accounting division to reconcile commission shortages/overages and communicate with insurance carriers.
  • Document all renewal activities, including RFPs, proposals, and emails, in our agency management system.
  • Work closely with production team members to meet client needs and requests.
  • Attend industry events and seminars to stay up-to-date on the latest developments and participate in continuing education opportunities.
Requirements:
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • 2+ years of benefit administration experience.
  • Active Life & Health license or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment.
  • Proven ability to handle sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Superior organization skills and experience prioritizing multiple tasks and requests.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite, including Excel.
  • CEBS designation preferred but not required.
