Job Summary:

The Financial Controller will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of St. Mary Development Corporation and Subsidiaries. This includes managing the finance department, supervising staff accountants, and ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial reports.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monthly closings and preparation of financial reports for St. Mary Development Corporation and all related entities.
  • Developing a monthly reporting package to send to senior management, including explanations of current and year-to-date financial positions.
  • Assisting with the preparation of the annual budget, including defensible assumptions and a sound course of action.
  • Managing the cash position for St. Mary Development Corporation and all related entities.
  • Managing day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, bank reconciliations, fixed assets, and the general ledger.
  • Proactively processing construction draws, NW LOC draws, and equity draws related to development activities.
  • Preparing accurate and timely tax and non-tax reports to government agencies and outside investors.
  • Developing, maintaining, monitoring, and documenting effective internal controls and financial accounting.
  • Managing and supervising the accounting staff in conjunction with the CFO's requirements.

Requirements:

  • Accounting degree required.
  • CPA designation preferred.
  • 6+ years of supervisory experience required.
  • Strong organization, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft-based accounting software, such as Great Plains, preferred.
  • Past involvement in IT upgrades, such as online banking, software implementation, and improving existing systems.
  • Financial management and financial reporting experience required.
  • Organization design and development experience required.
  • Critical thinking and clear communication skills required.
  • Ability to adapt to a changing environment required.
