District Operations Manager

Job Summary:
The District Fitness Manager is responsible for overseeing the fitness operations across multiple gym locations, ensuring a top-tier experience for members and staff while meeting company and financial goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Culture:
- Lead by example, upholding company standards and fostering a motivating and positive environment.
- Recruit, train, and mentor Fitness Managers and personal trainers across all locations.
- Hold accountability for the financial performance of personal training and overall member satisfaction.
- Engage with members and staff to address concerns, resolve issues, and provide actionable recommendations.
- Operational and Financial Management:
- Oversee the financial performance of the fitness departments, including managing budgets, tracking income, and controlling expenses.
- Ensure consistent implementation of company policies to maintain operational efficiency and high service standards.
- Provide insights and feedback to help shape each gym's operating plan, aligned with company goals.
- Set and track monthly revenue targets for fitness teams, providing regular updates to senior management.
- Team Development:
- Build a dynamic team through consistent training, coaching, and accountability.
- Manage the hiring process, disciplinary actions, and performance evaluations for fitness staff, in coordination with upper management.
- Conduct regular meetings with Fitness Managers to review performance, provide leadership, and guide teams toward meeting district and company objectives.
- Train fitness staff to enhance member retention through effective fitness presentations and customer service.
- Fitness Operations:
- Establish and maintain a fun, safe, and community-driven gym culture that increases member satisfaction and maximizes profitability.
- Ensure members receive high-quality fitness programs from trained professionals, in line with company standards.
- Support gym operations, including scheduling and resolving member concerns related to fitness services.
- Achieve district-wide fitness revenue goals by driving staff performance and customer engagement.
- Member Experience:
- Act as a role model for delivering excellent member service, resolving escalated issues, and ensuring corrective actions are in place.
- Ensure gym appearance and cleanliness meet company standards, addressing any deviations immediately.
- Maintain a safe environment for members, staff, and gym property at all times.
- Support other departments, such as Sales and Front Desk, when needed to enhance the overall gym experience.
- Administrative Duties:
- Manage payroll tasks, ensuring timely and accurate processing each pay period.
- Maintain a professional demeanor and make decisions that align with company standards and goals.
- Perform additional tasks and projects as directed by senior management.
Work Environment:
- Exposure to mechanical equipment and occasional lifting of 50+ pounds may be required.
- Work hours may include extended days, weekends, and holidays to support business needs, with the gym closed only on Christmas Day.
Position Requirements:
- Experience: 2-3 years of management experience, overseeing multiple locations or teams. Experience in retail, hospitality, or service industries is a plus.
- Skills: Strong leadership, P&L management, and team-building experience.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Certifications: CPR certification required.
- Travel: Ability to travel between gym locations, with up to 60% travel required.
