We are currently in search of a Maintenance Team Leader for our manufacturing facility in Atlanta, Georgia.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Under the guidance of the Engineering Department Manager, this role involves leading a functional team within a high-performance setting. The Maintenance Team Leader will oversee daily operations and drive improvement initiatives through effective people and process management. This position holds overall accountability for team performance and results. A solid understanding of procedures and concepts within the technical domain, along with a foundational knowledge in other areas, is essential. Responsibilities include supervising Crew Leaders, Electricians, and other skilled personnel engaged in maintaining the plant's facilities, processing areas, and packaging lines using Total Productive Maintenance techniques. Additional duties may encompass grounds and building upkeep, facility security, forklift maintenance, storeroom management, machine shop operations, and lubrication programs. This role may also entail managing external contracts for maintenance services.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and develop team members while promoting a collaborative environment.
  • Achieve or surpass established objectives related to Safety, Process Reliability, cost management, waste reduction, quality assurance, sanitation, and other performance metrics.
  • Act as the primary leader for spare parts processes and storeroom management. Serve as a power user and business process owner for CMMS.
  • Oversee all facility and equipment maintenance activities and associated budgets.
  • Manage the operations of the maintenance storeroom.
  • Supervise the wastewater treatment facility operations.
  • Support and cultivate McCormick's High-Performance Organization (HPO) Business Teams to ensure effective information flow, personnel development, problem-solving, goal-setting, and process enhancements are integral to daily operations.
  • Identify training needs for the PM group to ensure skill levels are maintained and enhanced to support plant equipment.
  • Plan resources, manage daily operations, and implement key initiatives focusing on Safety, Effective Maintenance, and delivery of Process Reliability improvements.
  • Analyze and mitigate equipment performance losses while eliminating recurring issues.
  • Guide teams in developing cultural and actionable plans to foster continuous improvement across the plant.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to resolve operational challenges.
  • Manage costs, overtime, budget controls, and scheduling effectively.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • At least 3 years of supervisory experience overseeing maintenance personnel in a manufacturing setting.
  • Proven track record of enhancing Process Reliability and/or Overall Equipment Effectiveness.
  • Experience with CMMS, SAP, or other ERP tools.
  • Expertise in maintaining manufacturing equipment.
  • Demonstrated ability to reduce losses in a manufacturing context.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with experience in Root Cause Analysis.
  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership, communication, and teamwork abilities.
  • Self-motivated with a strong focus on action.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours across multiple shifts as required.
  • Proven project management skills leading to successful outcomes.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Experience in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
  • Strong planning capabilities with an understanding of business decisions influenced by financial, inventory, and customer service metrics.
  • Demonstrated participative management and leadership skills.
  • Experience in the flavor manufacturing sector.
  • Proven success in managing projects and improvements, including contractor oversight.
  • Experience in maintaining processing equipment.
  • Familiarity with Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) processes.
  • Background in food manufacturing.
  • Demonstrated leadership within a high-performance environment.
  • Knowledge of at least one additional functional area outside of the current discipline.
