About the Role

As a Residential Services Coordinator at the University of California, Irvine, you will play a critical role in supporting the operations of our housing department. This position involves supervising front desk student staff, maintaining office equipment, and coordinating services with vendors. You will also be responsible for joint coordination and management of room assignments with Housing Administrative Services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and train front desk student staff, including hiring, evaluation, and performance management.
  • Maintain and upgrade office equipment, ensuring optimal functionality and efficiency.
  • Coordinate services with vendors, ensuring seamless delivery of support services.
  • Jointly coordinate and manage room assignments with Housing Administrative Services, ensuring accurate and timely processing.
  • Provide heavy client relations with students, campus partners, and external constituents, analyzing service trends and making recommendations for process improvements.
  • Oversight of assignments, room change process, contract terminations, and providing backup support for other community Residential Services Coordinators.
Requirements
  • Thorough knowledge of administrative procedures and processes, including word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, particularly Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, active listening, critical thinking, multi-tasking, and time management skills.
  • Interpersonal and work leadership skills to provide guidance to non-exempt personnel.
  • Ability to interact positively and communicate effectively with a diverse group of students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
  • Skills to compose memos, letters, reports, and presentations using standard business formats.
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently complete detailed tasks and manage projects.
  • High school diploma or equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bilingual oral and written communication skills (English and Spanish, Chinese, Korean, or Vietnamese).
  • Demonstrated experience in using Adobe Acrobat, Illustrator, Photoshop, and/or similar software.
  • Knowledge of Student Housing, university, and community resources, systems, and services.
  • A minimum of 1 year of administrative office experience.
Working Conditions

This position may require occasional weekend or evening work for opening and closing of residence halls. A DOJ background check, including LiveScan fingerprinting, is required. The incumbent must be willing to return to work in case of a disaster.
