About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Music Therapist to join our team at Mozaic Senior Life. As a Music Therapist - Therapeutic Recreation Specialist, you will be responsible for organizing and conducting therapeutic recreation activities to enhance the sensory motor, cognitive, and psychosocial skills of our residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement music therapy programs to meet the needs of our residents, including group activities and one-to-one sessions.
  • Complete thorough documentation of resident assessments, progress notes, attendance records, and discharge summaries in compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Input MDS/care plan data and attend regular care planning meetings to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Transport residents to and from scheduled activity areas, prepare activity spaces, and maintain inventory of equipment and supplies.
  • Drive company vehicles as required for outings and participate in various staff meetings to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Exhibit leadership qualities, mentor residents, and engage them in recreation programs, while also mentoring music therapy interns.
  • Demonstrate the ability to facilitate group process, manage interpersonal needs of residents, and assess and document their needs and progress.
  • Participate in resident community outings as required, prioritizing resident safety and well-being.
  • Maintain necessary credentials to provide music therapy to residents, including a valid driver's license.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Music Therapy
  • No experience necessary, but a strong passion for music therapy and senior care is essential
  • Valid driver's license
