About the Role

We're seeking a Resident Services Coordinator to join our team at Hale Na Koa 'O Hanakahi, a 92-unit property in Hilo, HI. This is a full-time position that requires 1-2 years of social work experience and/or activities coordination for seniors and/or families. The successful candidate will have a valid driver's license, clean DMV record, and reliable transportation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and oversee the delivery of services and program activities to residents, both on and off-site.
  • Provide information, assistance, and resident services referrals, and engage in follow-up.
  • Perform needs assessments to determine what types of programs and services would benefit the residents.
  • Develop supportive relationships with residents and conduct regular outreach to encourage participation in resident programs.
  • Connect residents to food resources in their community and increase resident access to food by facilitating distributions as needed.
  • Establish connections with service providers and maintain a community resource directory in an online database.
  • Accurately prepare and maintain monthly budgets, program files, and other documents in the online database and as required by regulatory requirements.
  • Create monthly newsletters and calendars of events and activities.
  • Maintain collaborative relationships with property managers and REM staff, and participate in biweekly meetings with the site team.
  • Actively participate in company-wide special initiatives, such as scholarships and digital learning, as applicable.
  • Assist with recruiting and coordinating volunteers and vendors as needed.
  • Maintain resident confidentiality and mutually respectful relationships.
  • Attend all Resident Council meetings and work with the Council and residents to encourage higher levels of participation and access to program activities.
  • Interface regularly with provider agencies, public agencies, and community volunteer groups to maximize effectiveness of program activities.
Requirements
  • BA Degree in Social Services, Healthcare, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • 1-2 years of social service experience working with elderly, families.
