Job Overview

We are seeking a passionate and creative individual to plan and conduct engaging art classes for preschool-aged children (ages 2-5). The role involves facilitating a parent/child class titled Story Art, where you will narrate a story and inspire creativity through various artistic mediums. Additionally, the Science Art class will explore themes such as nature and weather, incorporating hands-on projects that encourage exploration and learning through art.

Responsibilities
  • Design and implement weekly art lessons that are innovative and theme-based.
  • Create a nurturing and safe environment for children to express their creativity.
  • Research and prepare art projects that align with the class themes.
  • Work collaboratively with parents and guardians to enhance the learning experience.

Work Schedule
Position requires availability during the school year, specifically on Thursdays from 9:15 AM to 11:30 AM. Additional hours may be available for other preschool programs as needed.

Essential Skills and Qualifications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to engage positively with the public and respond to feedback.
  • Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and sound judgment in addressing customer needs.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Minimum Requirements
  1. At least one year of experience working with preschool or youth populations.
  2. Must be at least 18 years old.
  3. Ability to obtain first aid/CPR certification prior to the start date.
  4. Successful completion of a comprehensive background check as mandated by relevant regulations.

Work Environment
The position is primarily conducted indoors in a dynamic community center setting with a lively atmosphere. Candidates should be prepared for physical activities that may include walking, climbing, bending, and stooping.
