Culinary Arts Instructor Opportunity

Lake Washington Institute of Technology is seeking a qualified part-time instructor to teach culinary arts courses. As a member of our faculty, you will play a critical role in shaping the next generation of culinary professionals.

Job Summary
  • Develop and implement instructional objectives and experiences that align with the program's goals and outcomes.
  • Assess individual student learning needs and make adjustments to ensure their success.
  • Design and deliver lessons that promote cultural diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Teach effective study skills and strategies to students.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and meet college requirements.
  • Implement disciplinary procedures and maintain a fair and respectful learning environment.
  • Design learning experiences that cater to the unique needs of adult students.
  • Post class syllabi and student grades via the online course system.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in culinary arts or a related field.
  • 5 years of related work experience in the culinary industry.
  • 2 years of kitchen management or related experience preferred.
  • College teaching experience and industry certifications preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Sensitivity and ability to interact with diverse populations.
  • Previous experience with online course systems preferred.
  • Must be a Washington State resident.
Compensation

Placement on the faculty salary schedule is based on an individual assessment of education and experience. The salary for part-time faculty contracts shall be based on the number of credits assigned, the type of class taught, and the rates contained in the part-time faculty salary schedule.

  • Other conditions may apply and will be detailed upon the offer of employment.
