Cosmetic Sales Counter Supervisor

Position Overview: The Cosmetic Counter Supervisor is accountable for the seamless implementation of Belk's strategic initiatives within the retail environment. This role focuses on achieving and surpassing sales objectives set by Belk and collaborating vendors by mentoring team members on delivering personalized service and fostering enduring customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Business Development:
- Assess daily, weekly, and monthly sales performance and propose strategies to enhance business outcomes to Store Management and Vendor Account Executive.
- Guide associates to achieve personal sales per hour (SPH) targets aligned with counter volume standards.
- Recruit, interview, and retain high-quality personnel.
- Maintain open positions to an average of no more than two weeks.
- Enhance the skills of existing staff and recommend individuals for promotions or increased responsibilities.
- Implement effective scheduling to ensure optimal coverage based on business demands.
- Utilize promotional calendars to maximize associate SPH.
- Communicate essential information consistently to the sales team using effective communication techniques.
- Sales Performance:
- Meet or exceed individual sales per hour goals.
- Exemplify outstanding selling techniques and customer service.
- Successfully execute promotions and special events.
- Drive sales through effective customer engagement.
- Collaborate with store management to enhance business-to-business relationships.
- Achieve assigned financial targets.
- Identify and mitigate shrinkage in the area.
- Customer Service Excellence:
- Exceed SPH and credit application goals.
- Express gratitude to each customer by name post-purchase.
- Process transactions efficiently and accurately.
- Deliver exceptional customer service to support satisfaction metrics.
- Build and maintain a loyal customer clientele.
- Safeguard personal customer information.
- General Duties:
- Maintain floor and stock areas in accordance with store presentation and hygiene standards.
- Timely unpack and organize new merchandise deliveries.
- Ensure promotional setups are completed promptly.
- Adhere to all operational procedures including inventory control and markdowns.
- Uphold professional dress standards and appearance.
- Foster a cooperative environment with fellow associates and management.
- Comply with attendance and conduct policies.
- Assist with non-sales duties as required.
- Maintain effective communication with store management and vendor representatives.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 3-5 years in retail and 1-3 years in a supervisory role.
- Skills: Proficient in standard business equipment and retail operations.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and move stock as needed and work flexible hours.
This position reports to the Sales Team Manager or Store Manager and supervises a team of Beauty Advisors.
