Role Overview:

Northrop Grumman Marine Systems (NGMS) is seeking a Principal Production Planning Scheduler for our Sunnyvale, CA location.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develops, organizes, issues, and manages production schedules while monitoring material requirements to ensure a seamless flow of authorized materials aligned with production needs.
  • Coordinates equipment and personnel schedules, verifies material supply and demand, and generates work orders or purchase requests based on a comprehensive production schedule, shop load, and inventory necessities.
  • Evaluates and monitors the internal status of customer products. Engages in internal production meetings for the designated work center area and communicates status changes to program management promptly.
  • Collaborates with appropriate internal teams to swiftly address any program scheduling challenges.
  • Facilitates interdepartmental coordination with production coordinators, quality assurance, manufacturing, purchasing, engineering, and MRP planning.
  • Shift start: 6:30am.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 6+ years of relevant experience in production control, production planning, or work center scheduling specifically for onsite manufacturing or in a machine shop environment; Master's Degree with a minimum of 4+ years of experience.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with Shop Floor or Machine Shop Planning, utilizing MRP systems; SAP preferred.
  • Proven analytical skills necessary for determining priorities, lead times, and shop floor schedules.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English, with proficiency in grammar and vocabulary. Excellent presentation, project management, and organizational skills are essential.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; Excel, Word, PowerPoint (i.e., working with pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and conditional formatting).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Business Management.
  • CPIM or APICS training.
  • Experience in Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma process improvement.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project.
  • Familiarity with Earned Value Management is a plus.

Salary Range: $80,600 - $121,000
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
