Role Overview
In scenarios involving intricate challenges, support may extend beyond the technical capabilities of a Level 3 professional. To provide this level of assistance, a recognized expert in a specific field may be necessary. Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) demonstrate the highest degree of proficiency in their designated area and offer expert-level issue resolution and recommendations to achieve desired program outcomes. Specialized knowledge may encompass, but is not limited to, the following functional and cross-functional domains: financial, engineering, environmental, climatological, biological, archaeological, architectural, and historic preservation. The utilization of the Subject Matter Expert category necessitates a specific task requirement, with associated costs proposed and negotiated at the time of need.
Qualifications
- Possession of an advanced degree (master's or Ph.D.) in agriculture, agronomy, animal science, plant science, environmental science, economics, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in the relevant area of specialization, showcasing demonstrated expertise and achievements in research, policy analysis, program management, or technical assistance.
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of agricultural systems, practices, policies, and issues, alongside relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities, with a talent for synthesizing complex information and formulating practical solutions.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively engaging and collaborating with diverse stakeholders.
- Experience in project management, stakeholder engagement, and training and capacity building.
- Proficiency in research methodologies, data analysis techniques, and relevant software tools.
- Commitment to the mission and values of promoting agricultural sustainability, food security, and rural prosperity.
