Join Our Team

Kleinfelder is seeking a Senior Project Engineer or Project Manager specializing in Water Treatment Processes. The ideal candidate will excel as an integral member of a resourceful and collaborative team focused on water solutions, engaging across various projects and sectors. This position offers the potential for advancement into a technical leadership or senior project management role.

Location Flexibility

This role can be performed from various locations, allowing for flexibility in your work environment.

This position primarily involves serving as a design and treatment consultant, project manager, and client liaison for initiatives within our Municipal Drinking Water Process Treatment division. You will lead and coordinate a multi-disciplinary team on projects encompassing ultra-pure water systems, drinking water solutions, water reuse strategies, system integration, permitting, and client-specific initiatives. Additionally, you will expand your professional network through collaboration with peers in water practices, further enhancing your career in both technical and business development by leveraging our diverse portfolio of public and private water/wastewater projects across multiple regions. Our water practice is a highly integrated team dedicated to delivering high-quality services to a variety of clients, including community and regulatory engagement, planning, design, and construction.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Extensive experience in the design and construction of water and wastewater treatment systems.
  • Leading technical initiatives for planning, studies, budgeting, technical management, coordination of multi-disciplinary engineering efforts, quality assurance, subcontractor management, and contract administration.
  • Overseeing staff and subcontractors to successfully deliver technical projects while mentoring and developing team members.
  • Effectively communicating water and wastewater design concepts to clients, engaging in project scoping activities, proposal presentations, and maintaining positive client relationships.
  • Building strong, productive internal collaborative relationships with senior management.
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of ten (10) years of experience in technical management of water/wastewater treatment projects.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering.
  • Professional Engineering license.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of water/wastewater treatment processes and experience coordinating various engineering disciplines involved in treatment plant design.
  • A strong work ethic complemented by excellent organizational, communication, computer, and technical writing skills.
  • Proficient team-building and communication abilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
