Role Overview

As a Construction Project Engineer, you will play a vital role in our Connecticut Construction Services practice. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Overseeing a team of construction inspectors, office engineers, and administrative personnel.
  • Ensuring compliance with contract documents and regulatory standards.
  • Maintaining safety, timeliness, and budget adherence throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Coordinating activities with clients and various stakeholders.
  • Conducting value engineering and constructability assessments.
  • Evaluating contractor requests for additional compensation.
  • Preparing documentation for change orders and negotiating settlements.
  • Leading project progress meetings and other relevant discussions.
  • Ensuring accurate contract payments and timely processing.
  • Facilitating the timely closure of contracts and obtaining necessary permits.
Qualifications

Essential Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in various construction roles, including estimating, bidding, procurement, scheduling, and field engineering on civil projects.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), Primavera P6, COMPASS, and AASHTOWare.
  • Experience in developing and managing construction engineering and inspection programs.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • A commitment to actively participate in our employee-owned culture.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Prior experience with Connecticut DOT.
  • Preference for local candidates.
