Role Overview

As a Construction Project Engineer, you will play a vital role in our Connecticut Construction Services practice. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Overseeing a team of construction inspectors, office engineers, and administrative personnel.
  • Ensuring compliance with contract specifications and regulatory standards.
  • Managing project timelines and budgets to guarantee timely and safe execution of work.
  • Facilitating communication and coordination with clients and stakeholders.
  • Conducting value engineering assessments and constructability evaluations.
  • Assessing contractor requests for additional compensation.
  • Preparing documentation for change orders and negotiating equitable settlements.
  • Leading project progress meetings and other relevant discussions.
  • Ensuring accurate contract payments are processed promptly.
  • Overseeing the timely closure of contracts and acquisition of necessary permits.
Qualifications

Essential Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in various construction roles, including estimating, bidding, and field engineering on civil projects.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) certification.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), Primavera P6, COMPASS, and AASHTOWare.
  • Experience in developing and managing construction engineering and inspection programs.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • A strong commitment to actively participating in our employee-owned culture.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience with Connecticut DOT.
  • Local candidates are preferred.
