Position Overview:

The Culinary Specialist is responsible for delivering an exceptional dining experience by preparing high-quality dishes. The primary objective is to ensure that guests consistently enjoy outstanding meals. Maintaining cleanliness in the food preparation area and equipment is essential in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide exemplary service to every guest, business partner, and colleague.
  • Follow recipes and product guidelines for preparing, seasoning, cooking, tasting, carving, and serving food items.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, particularly those related to food safety.
  • Sample products, adhere to menus, estimate food requirements, and maintain accurate production records.
  • Practice excellent food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Regularly replenish kitchen supplies and food items necessary for service.
  • Assist in ordering and planning food supplies.
  • Report any equipment repair and maintenance needs to management.
  • Support the training of new kitchen staff and offer assistance as required.
  • Monitor the proper rotation and dating of prepared food items.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment free from safety hazards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED; culinary school training is a plus.
  • A minimum of 1 year of relevant cooking experience, preferably in a high-volume or fast-casual dining setting.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and communicate instructions and policies effectively.
  • Food handler's certification may be required based on local regulations.
  • Capable of working independently for extended periods and exercising good judgment in guest interactions.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts in a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong customer service skills and effective communication abilities.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Adaptability to changing priorities and unexpected situations.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and basic mathematics.
  • Ability to lift at least 50 lbs and perform essential job functions, including standing, bending, reaching, and walking long distances.
  • Comfortable working in an environment with varying temperatures.
