Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Academic Coordinator to join our Environmental and Sustainability Studies Program team at Wake Forest University. The successful candidate will provide administrative support to the Director and faculty, ensuring the smooth operation of the program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service to students, faculty, and staff, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Manage the program's administrative functions, including scheduling, budgeting, and record-keeping.
  • Coordinate events, meetings, and activities, ensuring seamless execution and follow-through.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, fostering a collaborative environment.
  • Prepare and analyze reports, data, and other materials to inform program decisions and initiatives.
  • Assist with faculty recruitment, onboarding, and evaluation processes, ensuring compliance with university policies and procedures.
  • Support student registration, academic advising, and other student-related activities.
  • Manage the program's website, social media, and other online presence, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director, ensuring the program's continued success and growth.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to customer service.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and other relevant software applications.
  • Experience with budgeting, scheduling, and record-keeping a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Experience working in higher education, particularly in environmental and sustainability studies.
  • Knowledge of geographic information systems (GIS) and other relevant technologies.
Work Environment

This is a part-time position, approximately 20 hours per week, with occasional evening and weekend work required. The successful candidate will be based on the Wake Forest University campus, with opportunities for professional growth and development.
