KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform data analysis, gather information, and produce technical documentation for environmental assessments to support architectural and engineering initiatives.
  • Collaborate on strategies for grant and loan proposals, assisting with document preparation, organization, and submission to funding organizations.
  • Manage existing grants and loans by monitoring project advancement, conducting internal and external reporting, maintaining historical records, and working with staff to ensure compliance with funding program requirements.
  • Monitor federal, state, and local government policy trends related to project funding to align with client objectives and long-term strategies.
  • Establish and nurture strong relationships with clients, colleagues, and funding organizations.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • A degree in Political Science, Non-Profit Management, Technical Writing, Public Administration, Municipal Management, or a related field; candidates must meet one of the following combinations of education and experience:
- Bachelor's degree with 3-4 years of relevant professional experience;

- OR a Master's degree in a related field with 1-2 years of relevant professional experience;

- OR an equivalent combination of education and experience (including internships).
  • Proficiency in transforming raw data into compelling narratives for funding acquisition.
  • Strong organizational, conceptual, and computer skills, including:
- MS Office

- PDF editing tools

- Internet research

- Data visualization tools
  • Meticulous research, record-keeping, information tracking, and data entry skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities in a dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrated independent problem-solving and decision-making capabilities with minimal supervision, while also being a collaborative team player.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Excellent reading comprehension, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Relevant coursework in planning, environmental science, or public administration.

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING? Candidates can anticipate involvement in critical projects such as funding applications, administration, and oversight for various agencies to support architectural and civil engineering initiatives. This role will also encompass research and preparation of environmental reports for federal and state agencies to facilitate project funding applications. Furthermore, the expectation is for this individual to engage in all facets of project management, from strategy development to funding research, project execution, and closure with clients. The Community Engagement Coordinator will craft persuasive narratives while serving as a creative consultant to elevate our clients' profiles and secure funding for deserving communities.

WHO WILL YOU BE WORKING WITH? Externally, the Community Engagement Coordinator will collaborate with clients from smaller and mid-sized local governments and government funding agencies. Internally, you will partner with our Community Development Lead and various architectural and engineering project managers across our different locations. You will also have direct access to funding agencies throughout the state, with which you will regularly interact.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position operates within a professional office setting. The role routinely utilizes standard office equipment such as computers, telephones, and photocopiers. While in the field, staff may encounter adverse weather conditions, including extreme temperatures, rain, snow, sleet, and hail. Candidates may also be occasionally exposed to challenging conditions and substances, including noise, dust, chemicals, vehicular exhaust, paint, traffic hazards, noxious plants, and wildlife.
