Position Overview
As a Senior Research Engineer specializing in Computer Vision, you will collaborate with GE Vernova Research, GE Vernova Businesses, and external partners to design, implement, and oversee strategic research and development initiatives centered on Computer Vision and Autonomous Systems.

GE Vernova's Advanced Research division serves as the core innovation hub for GE's energy business portfolio, unified under the GE Vernova brand. Our research team comprises over 250 experts from diverse scientific and engineering fields, collectively driving significant research projects aimed at decarbonizing energy, enhancing renewable sources, and fostering electrification to establish a modernized grid for a sustainable energy future.

Key Responsibilities

Core Duties
  • Innovate and develop cutting-edge technology concepts with a strategic focus on computer vision algorithms, system architecture, and integration.
  • Lead and actively engage in design, architecture, and development processes.
  • Collaborate with internal and external experts across the computer vision spectrum to propel new ideas and applications.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree with 7 years of experience, Master's degree with 5 years of experience, or PhD with 2 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, with a focus on computer vision software development.
  • Proven track record of successful project execution.
  • Authorization to work in the US is mandatory; visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • Extensive experience in systems architecture, design, and integration.
  • Proficient in programming languages such as C/C++/Python.
  • Strong background in software engineering and architecture.
  • Experience in developing camera and sensor drivers.
  • Proven ability to integrate software into functional systems.
  • Experience with robotic perception, sensor fusion, and computer vision technologies.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and independent decision-making capabilities in a dynamic team environment.
  • Must be willing to undergo a drug test and background check as part of the hiring process.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Willingness to work from an office location is required.

The compensation range for this role is $98,400 - $145,000 USD annually, influenced by various factors including experience, education, and location. This position is also eligible for performance-based bonuses.
