**Position Summary**

The Culinary Operations Leader is accountable for overseeing all kitchen activities, including food procurement, preparation, and adherence to quality standards. This role encompasses sanitation, cleanliness, and the training of staff in cooking methods, presentation, portion control, and hygiene practices. We seek an individual who can lead the team effectively, manage peak service times with a positive demeanor, share their culinary enthusiasm, and occasionally introduce exciting specials, all while maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Ensure consistent preparation and presentation of food according to established recipes and standards.
  • Make all kitchen staffing decisions, including recruitment, evaluation, coaching, and corrective actions.
  • Conduct orientation for new kitchen employees on company policies and oversee their training.
  • Assist in various kitchen roles to ensure efficient service and operations.
  • Prepare necessary documentation, including reports and schedules, in an organized manner.
  • Maintain kitchen equipment in excellent condition through regular inspections and adherence to maintenance protocols.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Kitchen Operations to develop new menu items and establish portion sizes.
  • Order products according to specifications and ensure proper delivery procedures are followed.
  • Manage food costs and usage by adhering to storage and waste control procedures.
  • Conduct performance appraisals for kitchen staff in accordance with company policies.
  • Schedule labor based on anticipated business activity while meeting staffing and cost objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures, providing coaching and corrective action as necessary.
  • Maintain cleaning schedules for all kitchen areas and equipment.
  • Monitor food holding and refrigeration temperatures to ensure safety standards are met.
  • Provide safety training in first aid, lifting techniques, and hazardous material handling.

**Qualifications**

**Education:** Culinary Degree Preferred

**Experience:** A minimum of 5 years in various kitchen roles, including food preparation and line cooking, with at least 6 months in a leadership capacity.

**Required Skills:**
