Graduate Nurse Role

Program Details: The Graduate Nurse Residency Program is designed to provide essential experience and refine your clinical skills in a Med/Surg/Tele environment before transitioning to a Critical Care setting. This initiative offers hands-on training tailored to your interests and career aspirations, with a personalized orientation and development plan created by your Clinical Educator. You will also receive additional support through our Nurse Residency Program, leading to a position in the Maternal Child Health department upon successful completion of your goals.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments of patients and families, recognizing a range of needs from simple to complex, while identifying normal parameters and deviations in physical and emotional health.
  • Exhibit proficiency in executing the technical skills necessary for patient care, staying updated on organizational policies and acting as a resource for colleagues.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of care provided, demonstrating critical thinking and making informed clinical decisions.
  • Understand the importance of research and evidence-based practices in nursing, taking initiative within the team and care delivery framework.
  • Support colleagues in acquiring specific departmental knowledge and skills, serving as a resource for clinical practices and operational systems.

Qualifications:

  • Licensure: Active New York Nursing license or eligibility through a limited permit from the NYS Office of Professions.
  • Education: Associate's Degree in Nursing.
  • Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS (new hires may obtain these certifications during the introductory period).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Graduates from an accredited nursing program, with a preference for a BSN.

Physical Requirements:

  • Physical: Frequent use of hands and fingers; ability to lift and carry light loads (up to 40 lbs); may require prolonged periods of sitting, walking, or standing.

Work Environment:

  • Onsite work environment with minimal travel requirements.

Compensation:

  • Hourly wage ranging from $38.63 to $47.18.
