Graduate Nurse Role

Program Highlights: The Graduate Nurse Residency Program is designed to provide new nurses with the essential experience and skills necessary for success in a Med/Surg/Tele environment, paving the way for future opportunities in Critical Care. This comprehensive program includes personalized training tailored to your interests and career aspirations, with ongoing support from our Nurse Residency Program.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients and their families, identifying needs that range from straightforward to complex, while utilizing a person-centered approach to develop effective care plans.
  • Exhibit proficiency in executing technical nursing skills, staying informed about organizational policies, and serving as a resource for colleagues.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of care provided, demonstrating critical thinking in clinical decision-making and maintaining accurate documentation.
  • Recognize the importance of research and evidence-based practices in nursing, taking initiative in team responsibilities and care delivery.
  • Support colleagues in acquiring essential knowledge and skills, becoming a recognized resource within the department.

Qualifications:

  • Licensure: Active New York Nursing license or a diploma with a limited permit from the NYS Office of Professions.
  • Education: Associate's Degree in Nursing.
  • Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS (new hires may obtain these certifications during the introductory period).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Graduates from an accredited nursing program, with a preference for those holding a BSN.

Physical Requirements:

  • Physical Demands: Frequent use of hands and fingers; ability to lift and carry light loads (up to 40 lbs); prolonged periods of sitting, walking, or standing may be required.

Work Environment:

  • Onsite position with minimal travel requirements.

Compensation:

  • Hourly wage range: $38.63 to $47.18.
